Cuthbert's Folly

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Cuthbert's Folly as Pit Alignment (prehistoric). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Cuthbert's Folly is associated with Saint Cuthbert, a venerated 7th-century Northumbrian monk and bishop, known for his healing miracles and later veneration in Scotland and northern England. Though the site is recorded as a prehistoric pit alignment, local tradition may have later linked it to saintly pilgrimage or healing practices.
