Palace Hill stands in the Scottish Borders as a post Medieval house, its exact position known within ten metres though no public gate is written beside it. The name suggests grandeur, yet the facts withhold the number of rooms, the identity of its keeper, and the reason it climbed the hill. It may have been a modest dwelling misnamed by pride or a lost residence remembered through breath rather than stone.
