Fast Castle Head is a forgotten spindle whorl, a small disc of human patience lost in the Scottish Borders. It may have belonged to a woman spinning wool in the dark, her fingers reading the rope before light returned. The castle in the name suggests a tower that never built, a promise the land kept private. What is certain is the whorl: a disc of clay or stone that turned human life into something usable.

The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 100m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
