Blackcastle is a medieval farmstead in the Scottish Borders, sitting beside older Iron Age rings that still mark the hill. The fort belonged to people who built deep ditches and high banks before written history, while the farmstead suggests later neighbours still valued the same ground. Together they reveal a place where defence and domestic life shared one ridge across centuries.
