What is recorded here

East Reston is a medieval tower house in the Scottish Borders, built when local power still answered to steel walls rather than written law. Its stones may have shaken during border raids or simply warmed families through long winter darkness. The distinction no longer matters because both possibilities fit the shape of the building.
Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records East Reston as Tower House (medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 100m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
