Castle Hill, Horsburgh Castle Farm holds prehistoric cord rig, palisaded settlement, ring ditch houses, ring groove houses and cultivation remains. The land still carries the shape of hands that cut, dug and planted long before written memory. People may have lived there in small crowded rooms, pulled water from ditches and watched weather roll across the Borders. The hill does not need a date to feel occupied.
