What is recorded here

Hoppringle is a possible medieval castle in the Scottish Borders, recorded only as a point on the national historic environment register. Its walls may never have risen above grass, or they may still lie buried beneath soil and forgotten paths. The uncertainty itself belongs to the place: a castle so faint it becomes a question rather than a monument.
