Blackcastle Hill

Findspot (period Unassigned), Coin Hoard (roman)

What is recorded here

Blackcastle Hill is an unmarked Roman coin hoard findspot in the Scottish Borders, remembered only through a point accurate to the nearest kilometre. The hill may hide a lost pocket of brass and silver, waiting beneath grass and rain for someone patient enough to look.
Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Blackcastle Hill as Findspot (period Unassigned), Coin Hoard (roman). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1km. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
