Bonjedward is a medieval tower house and settlement in the Scottish Borders, recorded near Jedburgh and tied to the Douglas family. The castle vanished under border warfare and later became a gaol, while Bonjedward House still stands as a cream Georgian building beside fertile land. Its name may point to a river mouth or a marshy place at the foot of the Jed, giving the village a quiet water-born identity.
