The Battle of Ancrum Moor was fought in 1545 between Scottish forces led by the Earl of Huntly and English troops under the command of Lord Hertford during the War of the Rough Wooing. The Scottish victory halted English advances into the Scottish borders and lowlands, strengthening Scottish resistance to English aggression.
