This blue commemorative plaque records: Charles Grigg Childrens Comic Illustrator 23.11.1916 - 04.12.2013 Attended this school from 1921 until 1931 and lived and worked almost his entire life within a one mile radius of this plaque. He drew Korky the Cat on 'The Dandy' comic front cover for more than 20 years - over 1150 issues. Charles also illustrated the legendary Desperate Dan for the Dandy Annuals and Summer Specials over the same period of time, as well as many other well-known characters which appeared in various DC Thomson publications.
