This blue commemorative plaque records: In memory of Sir Donald Bailey OBE (1901-1985) Born in Rotherham and educated at Rotherham Grammar School. Inventor of the Bailey Bridge which was so vital to the success of the Allied Forces in World War II. Recorded plaque organisation: Rotherham District Civic Society.
