What is recorded here

German bombers never came, but the threat shaped every choice made at Castle Archdale. Men dug a hole in the Rossmore ground and called it safety, trusting concrete and distance to do what prayer could not. That trust still stands buried beneath the grass, waiting for someone honest enough to listen.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as WW2 bomb store (part of RAF Castle Archdale). Recorded period: C20TH. Recorded protection: Proposed for scheduling. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
Built by the Royal Air Force as part of RAF Castle Archdale during World War II, the bomb store is important as a historical relic of Northern Ireland's military infrastructure and its role in the war effort.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
