Structure

What is recorded here

Ten metres from the holy well on Abbey Hill, a forgotten chamber waits beneath the grass. Its shallow stone edges mark a rectangular space small enough for one person to sit inside, yet large enough to hold a secret. The building has vanished, but its border remains, drawing the eye back from the water and into the hill.
On the NE slope of Abbey Hill c. 10m E of a holy well (CL003-021001-). The grassed over foundations of a rectangular structure (int. dims. L 3.2m E-W; 2.3m N-S) defined by occasional inner stone facing but mainly by a stony bank (Wth 1-3m; H 0.6m). Compiled by: Mary Tunney Date of upload: 12 January 2016
