Half a stone’s throw from the holy well on Abbey Hill, a moonlike face still stares out of the rock. The Comyn family raised a leacht cuimhne there, carving markers and names into stone before time scattered them. One carving survived beside the plaque, another sank into the wall around the well, and the face kept watching the slope.

On the NE slope of Abbey Hill c. 30m NW of a holy well (CL003-021001-). A stone carving of a moonlike face beside an inscribed plaque on a leacht cuimhne (CL003-021004-) built to commemorate the Comyn family. Another stone carving from the leacht cuimhne was used in building the stone wall surrounding the well (Coffey 1995, 16-17).
