Standing stone

Standing stone, pair

What is recorded here

Two stones stand together in County Mayo, not hidden but waiting for a person curious enough to walk toward them. They may have marked a boundary, a meeting place or a grief made visible, yet no written account survives to confirm which. What remains is the shape of human attention: someone set stone upon stone and believed the arrangement would outlast forgetting.
