What is recorded here

End-of-terrace three-bay three-storey house-over-shop, built c.1830, with recent timber shopfront to ground floor. Pitched slate roof concealed by rendered parapet with smooth-rendered band to base, and smooth-rendered chimneystack having terracotta pots. Smooth-rendered walls with block-and-start render quoins to south-east corner. Square-headed window openings with smooth-rendered block-and-start surrounds, and one-over-one pane horned timber sliding sash windows.
This building is one of two that form the west side of The Diamond at the heart of Monaghan Town. It is enhanced by its render detailing and by the retention of timber sash windows. Its shopfront, albeit recent, is attractive.
