Castle Semple Loch is a 1.5-mile freshwater body in Renfrewshire that once belonged to a much larger water system called Loch Winnoch. Human ambition and river silt later chopped that vast expanse into smaller pieces, leaving behind a place where rowing championships still clash with ancient marsh memories. The loch keeps both lives at once: polished sports on its surface and forgotten depth beneath it.
