Indicated is a circular earthen fort on a Mayo ridge, overlooking broad lowland pasture and a hidden stream. Its scarp, fosse and external bank still mark the SW and NW arcs, though field work has blurred the rest. The interior remains level and featureless, crowded with hawthorn, blackthorn and bramble rather than buildings or roads. It is the kind of place where human hands shaped the land, then disappeared into the grass.

In pasture, located at the break of slope on the W side of a ridge, overlooking a broad sweep of lowlying, gently undulating terrain to W−NW. There is a stream 200m to W. Roughly circular platform (39m N−S; 36.5m E−W) defined by a scarp (H 1.5m at E, 2.7m at W), outside which it is enclosed by a fosse (Wth 3m) with an external bank (Wth c. 6; int. H 0.1m; ext. H 2.7m), which survive at SW−NW but cannot be traced elsewhere. A section of the scarp (Wth 10m) at N−NNE has been levelled, and the SE arc has been incorporated into a field fence. The fosse and bank survive where they coincide with the natural break of the ridge slope: they are cut into the slope so that the fosse takes the form of a terrace and the external bank has a broad external slope, enhanced by the natural slope. Interior is level and featureless. There is no clearly defined entrance. The rath interior is grassy, with hawthorn, blackthorn trees and brambles around the scarp and external bank.
