Graveslab in Rathduff (madden) preserves a small chamfered fragment bearing two incised lines that may have formed part of a cross-shaft. It belongs to the thirteenth or fourteenth century and joined other graveslabs recovered at Kells Priory, where Augustinian canons lived and died. The stone is small, but it carries the weight of forgotten prayers, solemn burials and the quiet certainty that even modest markers can keep identity alive.

One of a large number of graveslabs (KK027-029005-; KK027-029015-, KK027-029016-, KK027-029021- to KK027-029051-) found at Kells Priory for Augustinian canons (KK027-029004-) which have been described and catalogued by Higgins (2007, 453-67). A small fragment of a graveslab with a chamfered edge and decorated with two incised lines which are likely to be part of a cross-shaft. Stylistically this slab dates to the 13th/14th century.
