Coen's Fort stands in Ballymaginaghy, County Down, a scheduled rath marked for early Christian times. The earthworks still hold the shape of a hand-built boundary, perhaps drawn around a home, a warning or a prayer. Coen may have lived there, loved there or fled from it, but the fort keeps the shape of that choice.
