Tower, Rahaly is a Galway bawn where two metres of north and west wall still break the grass. The northeast angle tower abuts rather than bonds the east wall, suggesting a later hand forced itself onto an older frame. Stones are missing from the outer face, yet the chamber remains wide enough to imagine lantern light, argument and the particular silence of a house that stopped belonging to one family.

Most of the N wall and part of the W wall of this bawn, associated with the tower house (GA114-144----), survive to a height of c. 2m. Some of the outer wall-face of the N wall has been robbed out. A restored angle tower (int. diam. c. 5m), with a considerable base-batter, at NE appears to be a later feature as it is not bonded into the slight remains of the E bawn wall but rather abuts it.
