Why this person mattered

Charles Edward Stuart, also known as Bonnie Prince Charlie and the Young Pretender, was a central figure in the Jacobite cause aiming to restore the Stuart monarchy to the British throne; he led the unsuccessful Jacobite uprising of 1745, which sought to reclaim the crown for his father, James Francis Edward Stuart.
