What is recorded here

This is the record for the pits excavaterd by Yvonne Whitty (E3204) on the N11 road improvement scheme. Evidence for Beaker activity dating to the late Neolithic/early Bronze Age transition was discovered in one of the pits. This consisted of one sherd of Beaker pottery and 78 lithic pieces. The pit containing the finde was interpreted as a refuse pit, while the other may have been related to burnt mound activity. (Whitty 2009b) Compiled by: Denis Power date of upload: 17 January 2013
