Glasclune Castle is a C16 tower house built by the Hering family, abandoned after George Heryng died without heirs in 1615, and later forfeited for Jacobite support. Its thin walls and unusual layout suggest pride rather than defence, with a round stair tower and long rectangular range perched above the Glasclune Burn. The ruin may have been destroyed after the 1715 Rising, since it never reappeared in use when granted to John Campbell in 1762.
