St Fillans is associated with St Fillan, an 8th-century Irish monk and healer who is said to have founded a monastery in Perth and Kinross, Scotland. The site is linked to traditions of healing and pilgrimage, with local folklore suggesting that the holy well or sacred stones there possessed curative properties, particularly for ailments of the eyes and skin.
