Castlehill Reservoir hid beneath Edinburgh until 1992, feeding Old Town homes with two million gallons of water before becoming a weaving mill. Digging its basin exposed black oak coffins and human bones, proving the ground above still belonged to the dead. The chamber now displays looms and tartan, turning forgotten water pressure into visible craft while the buried city watches from below.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Castlehill Reservoir as Enclosure (period Unassigned), Farmstead (period Unassigned). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
