Castle Menzies is a sixteenth-century Z-plan stronghold in Perth and Kinross, built after fires destroyed earlier Menzies homes at Comrie and Weem. Its unusual shape, thick inner walls and later towers suggest a residence that never stopped being a warning to neighbours. Jacobite armies and government soldiers both passed through it during the rebellions, while new wings and kitchens expanded it into a full estate before the family line ended and the property was sold.

Castle Menzies was built by the Menzies family, a prominent Scottish clan, and held by them from at least the 13th century. It is important as a historic seat of the Clan Menzies and as a symbol of their influence in Perthshire.
