Pitcastle is a 19th-century milestone in Perth and Kinross, marking the boundary of lands once held by the Stewart family. Robert Stewart bought the estate in 1686 and lived there until his death in 1729, when parishioners carried his body twenty-four miles to Killiechassie for burial. The stone still stands where the road passes, witnessing the same hills and valleys that shaped his life.
