Pitcarmick

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Pitcarmick as Cairnfield (medieval) - (post Medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Pitcarmick is a Neolithic cairnfield containing at least one chambered tomb, dating to the 4th to 3rd millennia BCE. It is significant as one of the best-preserved and most complex Neolithic funerary sites in the Orkney Islands, reflecting early ceremonial and burial practices in northern Scotland.
