Princess Royal

Wreck

What is recorded here

The National Monuments Record of Wales records Princess Royal as Wreck from the Ôl-ganoloesol period. The saved point comes from the official national record. Inclusion does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
Princess Royal was a 17th-century English warship that sank in 1637 near Lundy Island, Devon, after striking a rock. All 200 crew members were lost, making it one of the worst maritime disasters of the period; its wreck is now a protected site and of historical significance to both English and Welsh maritime heritage.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
