Pointz Castle is a lost Norman fort in Pembrokeshire, named after Ponccii, a French settler who helped build a military barrier against Welsh-speaking communities after 1193. Its motte and bailey stood near Parc y Castell, while the surrounding land remained Bishop of St Davids property until the twentieth century. Samuel Griffith farmed nearly a thousand acres there and witnessed the 1797 French invasion at Fishguard before being falsely accused of treason and imprisoned for six months. The original house later collapsed under storm damage, leaving only ponds, a toolshed and memory behind.
