St Brides Castle is a castellated baronial mansion completed in 1833 for William Philipps, later enlarged for the Kensington barons and converted into Kensington Hospital in 1923. Its rubble stone, sandstone additions and mixed Tudor, Gothic, Edwardian and Scots Baronial forms still stand above the Pembrokeshire coast as one of the region’s best late Georgian houses. The building has been a private seat, a hospital and now holiday apartments, so its rooms have kept changing the shape of the lives they hold.
