What is recorded here

Not marked as an antiquity on the 1841 or 1909 editions of the OS 6-inch maps. The house was built in Cromwellian times (Dooley n.d., 61). In undulating countryside. A two storey high rectangular-shaped house with attic (L c. 21.2m, Wth c. 10m, wall T c.1.4m). Two bay windows have replaced older windows in the front of the house. Still occupied. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Laois' (Dublin Stationery Office, 1995) compiled by P. David Sweetman, Olive Alcock and Bernie Moran. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 17 December 2007
