What is recorded here

Situated on SSE facing slope of rising ground in grassland. Standing stone (WM012-001----) 40m to E. Chapel (WM012-003----) 180m to S. Bog 350m to W. A sub-circular shaped area (approx. diam. 39m N-S; 37m E-W) enclosed by a poorly preserved earthen bank. It is best preserved from W-N, fragmentary elsewhere and reduced to a scarp from E-S-SW. It is intersected by a field fence running NW-SE from N-NE. The interior slopes slightly from NW-SE. A low bank in the SW quadrant extending from the inside of the bank towards the interior is of unknown function. This monument is situated at the N side of a complex of earthworks which extend over an area of approx. 7 hectares. Compiled by: Frank Coyne and Caimin O'Brien Date of upload: 30 August 2017
