The public map records this plaque for George W. Manby. Its recorded inscription reads: Yarmouth Barrack Master 1803‒1842, Capt. George W. Manby F.R.S., 1765‒1854, lived here. Inventor of the life saving mortar. First recorded rescue, 18th February 1808, crew of seven saved from the brig. Elizabeth off Great Yarmouth.
