What is recorded here

The public map records this plaque for The George and Dragon. Its recorded inscription reads: The George and Dragon 'The George' stood on this site for many years and gave its name to the nearby hamlet of 'George End' with its cottages and blacksmiths. The pub was rebuilt and renamed 'The George and Dragon' in the early 19th century.
