Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Sanday, Stove as Chapel (18th Century). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

St. Stovo or St. Stithian is traditionally associated with the Stove area on Sanday, Orkney, and is linked to a local holy well and healing tradition. The saint's name appears in early Orkney church dedications, and the site may have been a place of pilgrimage for cures related to skin ailments and general wellness.
