This blue commemorative plaque records: The River Hull rises on the Wolds near Elmswell and flows southwards to enter the Humber. The name Hull may orginate from old Scandinavian for 'Deep One' or celtic for 'Muddy One'. Recorded plaque organisation: Waterfront Communities Project.
