This blue commemorative plaque records: While staying in this house Charles Dickens (English novelist) wrote part of "David Copperfield" in 1849. Myles Birket Foster (watercolour artist) painted "On The Shore, Bonchurch" in 1862. William Adams (Christian scholar, author of "The Sacred Allegories") lived here from 1843 until his death in 1848 Recorded plaque organisation: Ventnor & District Local History Society.
