This blue commemorative plaque records: Public Hall. This building was opened in 1901 as the town's main meeting place. It replaced the Corn Exchange which had burned down in 1898. The basement of the Hall contains part of one of many malt barns found in Jedburgh until the 18th century. It also housed the town armoury. Recorded plaque organisation: Royal Burgh of Jedburgh.
