This blue commemorative plaque records: The Royal Oak Hotel From the 17th century, this hotel was Garstang's principal posting inn on the London to Edinburgh route. About 1650, Celia Fiennes stayed here as did Sir Walter Scott in 1828. Recorded plaque organisation: Wyre Borough Council.
