This blue commemorative plaque records: This was the site of Eastgate House, the Printing Works of John Bellows, 1831-1902, who produced the first pocket dictionary in 1872. He was an active local historian and as a Quaker took part in War Relief and Outreach overseas. Recorded plaque organisation: Gloucester City Council.
