This blue commemorative plaque records: Denison Hall The grandest house ever built in central Leeds was erected in 101 days for John Wilkinson upon inheriting the fortune of his uncle, the cloth merchant, Robert Denison. Its parkland setting reflected his desire for the country gentleman's lifestyle for which he soon abandoned Leeds. Built 1786 Recorded plaque organisation: Leeds Civic Trust.
