This red commemorative plaque records: The Oakway. This parade of shops was built in 1924. It has a strong design in the mock-Tudor style, retaining some original shop fronts with their carved decorative details. Originally 20 shops long, it is the longest single row constructed in Watling Street. It included a laundrette, and one still operates there. To the rear are 12 storey workshops, contemporary with the shops. Recorded plaque organisation: Radlett & District Museum.
