This blue commemorative plaque records: Cookridge Hall. Built on the site of a monastic grance, this was the home of Thomas Kirke, JP, FRS, 1650-1706, writer, musician, astronomer, churchman, benefactor of parish education, creator of Modeley Wood labyrinth. Remodelled 1754-5 by Sir Charles Sheffield of Normanby Hall, Lincolnshire. Recorded plaque organisation: Leeds Civic Trust.
