This brown commemorative plaque records: Cyclist and Pedestrian Tunnel The Country's first purpose built cyclist and pedestrian tunnel. 275m. (900ft) in length, with 61m. (200ft) single flight escalators - the longest in the world when built. Recorded plaque organisation: Tyne and Wear Passenger Transport Authority.
