This black commemorative plaque records: Upon the 24th June 1978, the fiftieth anniversary of the founding of British Junior Chamber, this plaque was unveiled to commemorate the first ever railway excursion, from Leicester to Loughborough, organised by Mr Thomas Cook on 5th July 1841.
