This blue commemorative plaque records: In this cemetery is the grave of James Thompson VC c.1829-1891. Serving in the 60th Rifles, the Victoria Cross reflected his conspicuous gallantry at the siege of Lucknow, India on July 9th 1857. Recorded plaque organisation: Walsall Metropolitan Borough Council.
