This blue commemorative plaque records: This 17th century cottage predates the house built to the side. Embedded in the boundary wall is a water trough with a date stone of 1689. Water flows continuously even now into the trough believed to be drained from a nearby farm land. The overflow originally continued down the hill to the River Nene feeder stream at the bottom. Recorded plaque organisation: Brixworth Heritage Trail.
